I grew up on the north side of Houston and was drawn to justice at an early age. After spending several years serving my community as a police officer, I was hired as a customs inspector in the agency that is now a part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. During my studies at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), I was named Academic Honor Graduate for earning the highest grade in my class and Overall Outstanding Graduate for getting the highest combined score in academics, fitness, and firearms.

Following my time at FLETC, I was hired as a special agent with ICE. Afterward, I returned to FLETC to train to conduct federal criminal investigations. In the process, I secured my first indictment within six months of graduating the academy.

Working as an ICE agent, I was inspired to go back to college to earn a Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science from the University of Houston-Downtown and a Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. I’m now a licensed attorney practicing criminal defense and family law and founded my own firm in April of 2014.

When I’m is not practicing law, I enjoy teaching Texas and Federal Government at the University of Houston-Downtown and coaching the Thurgood Marshall School of Law’s mock trial team.
